Silkroute Homestay was started in 24th February 2014 by Mr and Mrs Sangay Dorjee Tamang . It is located at Aritar, East Sikkim at an altitude of 4600 ft (1,400 m) below aritar lake with a clear view of Mt. Kanchendzonga from all the rooms. Situated on the lap of hills and surrounded by mountain range all around, far away from the city crowd, it is a beautiful and untouched tourist destination, with a very homely atmostphere, good hospitality and simplicity it offers traditional experiance of Nepali and Sikkimese culture.

Dak Bunglow : Popularly known as Ari-Bangla it is an old British built bunglow built by Sir James Claude White (first political officer of Sikkim during British rule in India) in the year 1895. About Aritar

Aritar is easily accessible from the state capital, Gangtok, by road. The destination can be reached by taxis and rented cars from Gangtok, which is situated at a distance of 63 km. It takes around four hours to drive from Gangtok to Aritar, which lies on the main route connecting Pakyong or Rangpo.

The closest airport and railhead is situated in Siliguri which is located at around 123 km from Aritar. Aritar can be visited all round the year, except for the rainy season, which is not suitable for outdoor activities.
